License extension
Extensions and subscriptions
When you purchase a MinimServer full license, this includes all updates (including new versions) and the optional MinimStreamer package for 12 months from the date of purchase.
You will receive a reminder email shortly before these 12 months have elapsed. You have the following choices:
- Purchase a license extension to enable you to continue to receive updates and use MinimStreamer for a further 12 months.
- Create a repeating subscription to make an automatic payment every 12 months to extend your ability to receive updates and use MinimStreamer. You can cancel this subscription at any time.
- Allow your ability to updates and MinimStreamer to expire. Your full license for MinimServer does not expire and you can continue to use all features of your currently installed version of MinimServer (but not MinimStreamer).
Purchasing an extension
You can purchase an extension at any time after purchasing your full license. To purchase an extension, visit the Extend license page, enter the information requested and click the Continue button.
If you are doing this within 30 days of your updates expiry date (or later), you will see the option to create a repeating subscription (see the Repeating subscriptions section). If you want to purchase an extension for 12 months without creating a subscription, decline the subscription option.
The next page provides more information about your license extension. After reading this, click the Buy Now button and enter your payment details. You can pay by credit card, debit card or PayPal.
After payment, you will be returned automatically to a confirmation page. If you have paid by PayPal, it might take up to a minute before this confirmation page is displayed.
You need to restart MinimServer to activate your license extension.
Repeating subscriptions
With a repeating subscription, an automatic payment is taken from your credit card, debit card or PayPal account every 12 months shortly before your ability to receive updates and use MinimStreamer is due to expire. This payment extends your expiry date for updates and MinimStreamer by 12 months.
You can cancel your subscription at any time. if you cancel, no more payments will be taken and your ability to updates and MinimStreamer will expire at the end of its current 12-month term. You will not receive a refund of payments already made.
You can create a subscription at any time from 30 days before your expiry date for updates and MinimStreamer. To create a subscription, visit the Extend license page, enter the information requested and click the Continue button. On the next page, select the option to create a subscription and click the Continue button. If you don't see the subscription option, this is because your expiry date for updates and MinimStreamer is more than 30 days in the future.
The next page provides more information about your subscription. After reading this, click the Buy Now button and enter your payment details. You can pay by credit card, debit card or PayPal.
If you have paid by credit card or debit card, you will be returned automatically to a confirmation page with a link for managing or cancelling your subscription. Click this link and you will see a page inviting you to claim an account using a link that expires within one hour. You can claim the account now or you can do this later by following a link from the License details page.
The account you are claiming is an account with SendOwl (the payment processor for MinimServer licenses and subscriptions). After you have claimed this account, you can log into the account to update your payment card details or cancel your subscription.
If you have paid by PayPal, your will be returned automatically to an Awaiting Payment Confirmation page. After reading the message on this page, close the page and check your email. The page will not refresh however long you leave it open. To update your payment details or cancel your subscription, login to your PayPal account.
To activate your license subscription, select the License tab from the MinimServer configuration web page or restart MinimServer.
Subscription renewal
If you have a repeating subscription, a renewal payment will be taken automatically from your credit card, debit card or PayPal account every 12 months. If your subscription payment is by credit card or debit card, you will receive a reminder email a few days before this payment is due, informing you that the payment will be taken soon. This gives you the opportunity to cancel your subscription before the payment is taken if you no longer need the subscription. If your subscription payment is by PayPal, you will not receive this reminder email (this is a PayPal issue).
If you don't cancel your subscription, your credit card, debit card or PayPal account will be debited for the subscription payment and your subscription will be extended for 12 months. If this transaction fails (for example, if your credit card has expired), you will receive an email notifying you about the problem and letting you know how to update your subscription details to enable the payment to be processed. A number of further attempts to take the payment will be made over the next few days. If the payment cannot be taken, your subscription will expire and you will receive an email telling you this has happened.
To activate your extended subscription date, select the License tab from the MinimServer configuration web page or restart MinimServer.
